Chariya Bissonette is a worship
leader and writer who began her career on stage at age 6 on a
Bob Hope Christmas special and has since performed in shows
including Fiddler on the Roof, Flower Drum Song and
as Pocahontas for the BBC's Children's Choice Awards.
Her singing career has included opening for (Gloria
Estephan, New Edition and singing with the jazz
group Hiroshima at the Hollywood Bowl.
In recent years Chariya's faith in God has
steered her talents toward the gospel message. She sang for
the Pope's visit at World Youth Day and coordinated
large venue events at Irvine Meadows and The Jesus People
Reunion at the Anaheim Pond. She has recorded numerous CDs
on her own and with Maranatha! Music as well as serving as an
instructor in their Worship Leader Workshop programs. In her
native Orange County she is a guest worship leader and choir
director at several churches as well as her home base church.
She started UP2U Ministries to provide resources and
presentations that educate, encourage arid spread a message of
hope and restoration. Chariya has created a youth magazine of
stories called Moral of the Story, but her most
important ministry remains her husband Matt and two sons,
Brandon and Joshua. |
